About Aikido in Sydney
Aikido in Sydney was founded as a place to practice being ‘the best we can be’ through the study of the way of Aiki in body, mind and spirit.
Our dojo, in the heart of Camperdown, Sydney, provides a quiet place to study these ancient arts and work together to improve performance at every repetition.
Our school follows the motto of another of our significant influences, Koretoshi Maruyama: “Every river has a name.
However, these names disappear when they flow into the great ocean.

Aikido has many styles and many names, but Aikido is Aikido.
It is my vision and hopes that, like the rivers, they flow together and unite as one.”
Aikido in Sydney follows a soft yet rigorous syllabus-based practice to develop the Aiki mind rather than fighting mind through the study of an open hand, weapons and Atemi-Jutsu.
