Ochre’s teaching approach is to facilitate students’ own style through structured and/or self-directed lessons in art practice and theory, incorporating both demonstrations in different mediums and techniques and discussing contemporary and historical artists. Ochre has taught adults in painting and drawing in many different art schools throughout Sydney and beyond including the Art Gallery of NSW, TAFE, ArtEst art school, Waverley Woollahra art school, and Northbridge School of Arts, and has delivered workshops in a variety of community organisations and schools. Ochre Lawson is a professional, exhibiting artist, with a BFA in Fine Arts from the prestigious National Art School, a Diploma of Fine Arts from Southbank Technical College and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from Charles Sturt University. She is a highly experienced and enthusiastic art tutor and practising artist of over 15 years, teaching and exhibiting in drawing, painting (oils and acrylics) and sculpture mediums.
