Module 1 : A "LOVELY LANDSCAPE"
This first Module from Adventures in Art is to create on a A3 canvas board, your treasured image in Acrylics.
The course of three lessons will guide you with ease through the steps to create this unique painting, unleashing your inner Artiste!.
We begin with an overview of the exciting concept" Atelier Adventures in Art" and the first of four Modules "A Lovely Landscape.
" We draw from your chosen image reference (previously emailed after sign up land then lightly sketch this
"gridded" image onto your canvas board thus helping our drawing skills.
Module 1 : A "LOVELY LANDSCAPE"
This first Module from Adventures in Art is to create on a A3 canvas board, your treasured image in Acrylics.
The course of three lessons will guide you with ease through the steps to create this unique painting, unleashing your inner Artiste!.
We begin with an overview of the exciting concept" Atelier Adventures in Art" and the first of four Modules "A Lovely Landscape.
" We draw from your chosen image reference (previously emailed after sign up land then lightly sketch this
"gridded" image onto your canvas board thus helping our drawing skills.
Reach for the Sky" (session 1) we will discuss the background of the image and how to add depth to your painting by locating the horizon line.
We will learn about dividing the canvas into thirds "the golden mean" to bring about the most pleasing view to your lovely landscape.
A demonstration on colour mixing for skies, a fun study of a sky on paper and then transferring the results to your canvas.
We will be using Acrylic paints for this module as they are most versatile and easy to handle being water based they dry faster and are more 'forgiving'.
"Magic Midground" (session 2) will demonstrate how to use the colour wheel for mixing
'primary' colours to "block"the mid ground of your canvas with more concentrated layers of paint.
Also a demonstration of how to use brushwork to create natural elements e.
g trees in your lovely landscape.
We make a fun study of these elements on paper and then transfer them to your canvas.
We will explore in "Colourista Sista" (session 3) 'secondary' colours on the colour wheel.
We
Add tone, dark to light to the foreground of your work.
We also demonstrate how complimentary colours can bring flashes of brilliant highlights to the detail of your lovely landscape.
This reveals your unique essence and truely unleashes your inner artiste.
We will learn how to finesse the foreground of the canvas with shadows to further enhance the emotional and pictorial depth to the painting.
We finish with tips on varnishing and framing your lovely landscape.
At our New Art Studio
in "Boho Darlo "we will be inspired to create! We will
take a break mid way through each session for sustenance and will end the lesson with a sharing of our work in progress accompanied by a complimentary wind down drink and nibbles.
