About Dance Factory

Dulcie started her adult dance career at the Tivoli Theatre and worked extensively in theatre, television, and cabaret with Australia’s leading choreographers. One of the highlights of her career was working as a Joe Latona dancer. She trained with the leading teachers of the day including Betty Pounder who eventually asked her to take over her classes. Since then she has developed the Dance Factory Full Time Performing Arts Course and the DFTA syllabus.

We have a proud history of producing some of Australia’s finest performers and choreographers and we apply that same attention to dance technique, safety and performance to our junior school. Our students are encouraged to treat dance as part of a balanced lifestyle, with schoolwork, social life and leisure being of equal priority. Teachers are advised that classes should be fun, friendly and non-competitive. Also, our teachers are aware of the need for safe dance techniques in young bodies, each student’s body is treated individually.
