He has more than 15 years of music teaching experience.
He completed a teaching course from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
This course not only helped him become an interactive and proactive teacher but also made him understand the importance of being a life-long learner.
Also, he learned the difference between an effective lesson and a mechanical mistake-correcting lesson as well as the skills in teaching scales, aural training, sight-reading and rhythms correctly.
His teaching philosophy is to build a holistic foundation for the students.
This foundation will, later on, allow them to explore the world of music independently.
Parents are encouraged to be visionary and not be tempted by immediate but short-lived results.
In summary, Francis believes we should take as much time as possible to let students learn and experience music from different angles at the early stages of music study.
By choosing the right balance of intrinsic values and taking this step correctly, students will be rewarded tremendously in the future.
Music exams are optional but not the primary goal of his lessons.
