About Glenn Buchanan Swim School

The Glenn Buchanan Swim School was founded in 1989 by Glenn, who had been teaching swimming in Townsville for 10 years prior to this. Because of their close proximity to the Weir, Glenn’s parents were quick to enrol him and his three brothers into learn-to-swim classes with Laurie Lawrence. It was here that Glenn’s passion for swimming and water safety began and it has been lifelong. Over the past 40 years, Glenn has developed a specialised learn-to-swim program to be not only the most successful swimming program in Townsville but also the longest-serving.

We also offer a specialised baby program which was developed by Glenn and can teach your baby to swim from 20 weeks.
