My name is Gary May and I have been working with singers now for over 50 years.
Originally I was trained in classical singing and piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia.
This was then followed by extensive work with opera companies.
Once setting up my own private studio I became fascinated with the physiological implications of singing successfully in different genres.

Great singing in any genre demands a solid foundation.
As with a beautiful house, if the foundation is strong, cracks will not appear in what sits above it when it is put under stress.
If you want longevity in your career a solid technique is your one and only option.
I feel that helping a singer build this solid technical foundation is one of my greatest strengths as a teacher.
Managements will always have reliability as one of their top priorities when employing a cast.
Troubleshooting problems with professional singers so that they can fulfil their performance obligations is another facet of my work that I particularly enjoy.
I have always been dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for my singers, irrespective of their individual goals and aspirations.
Whether a shower singer or an elite performer, students are always treated with the same care and respect.
