The original owner Peter Brasher had many years of experience teaching and coaching in Queensland. He had an idea to build an East Coast-style facility in the tropics - an indoor, temperature controlled learn to swim centre that would be operational 12 months a year. In 2003, Goldfishbowl Swim School in Palmerston was opened for business. In 2022, Royal Life Saving NT continued Peter's legacy of providing learning to swim and water safety education to the community.
