About Hipa Studios

Hipa Studios started life as Happyfeet Performance Academy 30 years ago by Cathy Carlson and Lyn Guerin. In 2019 they both decided to take a step back from running a dance studio. So using their teaching techniques and ethos, Hipa studios was created by Cathy’s younger sister Donna. Donna had grown up in their studio and taught alongside Cathy for over a decade after returning from performing overseas.

Hipa Studios started life as Happyfeet Performance Academy 30 years ago by Cathy Carlson and Lyn Guerin. In 2019 they both decided to take a step back from running a dance studio. So using their teaching techniques and ethos, Hipa studios was created by Cathy’s younger sister Donna. Donna had grown up in their studio and taught alongside Cathy for over a decade after returning from performing overseas. We teach a variety of styles including Jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, contemporary, tiny tots classes and more. We have dance classes for ages 2 to 99 across the Gold Coast. All our dance studios have fun uplifting atmospheres, with great instructors. All of our instructors have been trained to meet our preferred methods of teaching and exacting standards.
