About Martial Journey Academy of Martial Arts

Beginning in scout halls, community halls and church halls back in the summer of 2005, Martial Journey was small and intimate, catering for students in 6 locations, some locations at once a week, while others were twice a week. Our locations included Mt. Waverley, Caulfield, Highett, Altona, Geelong and Bannockburn. In 2007 we opened Point Cook Dojo at Jamison Way Community Centre, and combined eastern suburbs dojos to Chadstone, and Geelong dojos to a singular Geelong location.

Beginning in scout halls, community halls and church halls back in the summer of 2005, Martial Journey was small and intimate, catering for students in 6 locations, some locations at once a week, while others were twice a week. Our locations included Mt. Waverley, Caulfield, Highett, Altona, Geelong and Bannockburn. In 2007 we opened Point Cook Dojo at Jamison Way Community Centre, and combined eastern suburbs dojos to Chadstone, and Geelong dojos to a singular Geelong location. Point Cook grew fast, and in January 2009 we moved to the Town Centre, above where Grill’d restaurant currently operates. During this time, we were negotiating leases in the area. Our path leads us to 5 Wallace Avenue, Point Cook. Then in October of the same year, we moved into our current location operating 4 days a week. At the end of 2009, we closed our much-loved locations in Geelong and Chadstone. In 2010, Martial Journey Academy of Martial Arts became the first full-time operating martial arts facility in the Point Cook area. Since then, we have gone on to win many business and operational awards. Many past and current students and staff have been a massive part of our growth. Without them, we wouldn’t be the amazing academy we are today. Instructors at Martial Journey are certified by going through the Martial Journey certification process. Our instructors train regularly to maintain their skill set so you can be assured they know their stuff inside and out. The process of selection to be an instructor is based on a specific criterion and they are students who display exceptional confidence, presentation and communication skills. They are required to attend advanced level training and leadership training to enhance their skills. All instructors over the age of 18 are first aid qualified and have a valid Working With Children check.
