About Scott Lam Piano Pedagogy
The systematic method we use, the Active Thinking Piano Method, has been proven very successful in advancing beginner students up to diploma-level virtuosity.
Students understand the logic in music and have good technical skills, they learn a difficult piece mostly by themselves and even have it memorised securely.
Teachers can then spend more time during lessons working on the most challenging parts of the piece and on musical interpretation.
Students can then produce a fluent and musical performance at an advanced level.

In 2017, the Australian Music Examinations Board AMEB NSW awarded Scott the most outstanding private teacher (Keyboard grade 7-licentiate).
This was the most prestigious piano teacher award and only one teacher is selected yearly in the states of NSW and ACT combined.
